# Why can’t I send email?

Most likely, you do not have SMTP authentication enabled. To correctly configure your email client, visit the [email client setup](https://www.host-age.com/kb/e-mail/) page. Another possible cause is your Internet provider blocking SMTP, which usually happens when a very dangerous virus appears to limit its spread; this SMTP block may be only temporary. In this case, set port 26 instead of port 25 for the Outgoing Mail Server in your email client.
