Each web hosting account is allocated certain resources (RAM, CPU, internet bandwidth, and maximum number of simultaneous processes – specified in the Terms of Use Article 23).
If a hosting account reaches the maximum allocated usage for at least one resource, some visitors to the site will receive a “Resource Usage Limit” or “Error 500” message.
This limit can be reached either due to a sudden high traffic or most likely because of a script that is not sufficiently optimized. Especially WordPress sites have this issue due to one or more plugins, in which case the problematic plugin must be identified and disabled.
If your site can no longer be optimized or has consistently high traffic, we recommend upgrading to a larger hosting package that includes more resources.
